TYPES OF COFFEE old

AFFOGATO

Espresso poured over vanilla ice cream and served in a cappuccino cup.

AMERICANO

Typically served in a cappuccino cup, an Americano is created by adding espresso to 100–150 ml of hot water. (It should be noted that water flowing through the coffee would lead to over-extraction.)

BREVE COFFEE

Equal parts espresso and half-and-half form this delicious brew.

CAFFÈ LATTE

A caffè latte is a tall, mild “milk coffee.” This hot beverage is made by mixing espresso with steamed milk, pouring a bit of milk foam on top, and sweetening with syrup if desired. Served in a latte cup or a coffee mug. (About 150–300 ml)

CAFFÈ MOCHA

Like a caffè latte, a caffè mocha is made by pouring about 2 cl of chocolate sauce into a glass, followed by an espresso shot and steamed milk. Serve with chocolate and whipped cream.

CAFÈ AU LAIT

Combine dark-roasted filtered coffee (sometimes prepared using a French press) and warm milk to enjoy this hot morning beverage. Serve in a large coffee mug or bowl.

CAPPUCCINO

This beverage consists of espresso and a milk foam mixture. Served in a cappuccino cup. (About 160–240 ml)

COLD BREW COFFEE

Cold brew is a cool take on coffee, made by brewing freshly ground coffee in cold water.

CORTADO

Cortado is made of one double shot of espresso and 2 oz of steamed milk. It is always the same volume.

DOUBLE ESPRESSO (or DOPPIO)

A double shot of espresso served in a cappuccino or espresso cup.

ESPRESSO

A short, strong coffee served in an espresso cup. (About 30 ml)

ESPRESSO CON PANNA

Con Panda is made by serving a shot of espresso with whipped cream. Served in an espresso cup.

ESPRESSO MACCHIATO

Add a little milk foam to espresso and serve in an espresso cup. (About 50 ml)

FLAT WHITE

Double espresso with lightly steamed milk served in a glass. (About 150–240 ml)

FRAPPÉ

A rich combination of espresso, milk, and ice that can be flavoured with syrup. Mixed in a blender and served in a latte glass. (About 300 ml)

GALÃO

This Portuguese take on a latte blends one part espresso and three parts steamed milk.

ICED LATTE

Served in a latte glass, the iced latte consists of espresso, cold milk, and ice and is sometimes sweetened with sugar or syrup. (About 300 ml)

ICED MOCHA

An iced mocha is prepared like an iced latte but garnished and flavoured like a caffè mocha. Served in a latte glass. (About 300 ml)

LATTE MACCHIATO

A latte macchiato is similar to a caffè latte, except it usually contains a thicker layer of foam. It is served in a latte glass and is typically made by pouring espresso into milk. (About 300 ml)

LUNGO (or ESPRESSO LUNGO)

An espresso pulled long. Served in an espresso or cappuccino cup. (About 50–60 ml)

RED EYE COFFEE

Regular drip coffee with two shots of espresso.

RISTRETTO (or ESPRESSO RISTRETTO)

A short shot of espresso. Served in an espresso cup. (About 20 ml)

TURKISH COFFEE

Turkish coffee is typically made in a cezve pot with finely ground beans boiled in water and sugar, giving it a sweet and robust taste.

VIETNAMESE COFFEE

Served hot or cold, Vietnamese coffee is mixed with sweetened condensed milk. Typically prepared in a Phin.
